Improvements and fixes
This update includes a fix for an incorrect device driver (“Microsoft – WPD – 2/22/2016 12:00:00 AM - 5.2.5326.4762”) that was released by a third-party on March 8, 2017 that affected a small group of users with USB connected phones or other media devices that rely on Media Transfer Protocol (MTP). If the driver is on your system, when any of these devices are connected, Windows will try to install this driver. These devices will not be connected until the driver is removed. This incorrect driver was removed from Windows Update the same day, but it may have been downloaded to your computer. After installing this update the incorrect driver will be removed.
How to get this update
- If the device is not yet connected, first install the device-specific driver, such as by using the appropriate installer. After the device-specific driver is installed, Windows 10 will select that driver instead of the standard USB audio 2.0 driver when you first connect the device.
- I dont see an update switch. My device has a switch on the side with the USB that has three settings toward the power seems to be off, middle allows me to install the ck3i drivers but the usb registers as a Human interface device and a disk drive. If I only see the USB Human interface. I cannot get te drivers to install.

- A UMDF-based client driver is implemented as an in-process COM server (DLL), and C is the preferred language for writing a client driver for a USB device. Typically, the client driver implements several interfaces exposed by the framework.
Hi, I was advised by a Dell technician a while ago that it is recommended to download the latest device drivers from the Dell Support site to a USB stick before doing a clean installation of Windows 8.1. Should I download the drivers to my hard drive (c: drive) and then copy and paste them over to the USB flash drive.
This update will be downloaded and installed automatically from Windows Update. To get the stand-alone package for this update, go to the Microsoft Update Catalog website.
